Job Description

Hiring a Medical Office Receptionist for a busy Endocrinology specialty clinic in Oakville.

You will make a real difference in the lives of our patients as you provide them with valuable information and administrative services to improve their lives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors as soon as they enter and direct them to the proper area of the facility.

  • Collect information from patients including insurance information, money for copays and contact information to insert into the company’s medical records.

  • Check patients’ vitals including their height, weight, and blood pressure.

  • Answer the telephone and redirect calls to the appropriate staff member, and respond to voicemails in a timely manner.

  • Schedule patient appointments, send requisitions and fax prescriptions to pharmacies.

  • Setup virtual patient appointments via OTN.

  • Maintain office inventory, ensuring there are always efficient levels of medical supplies and other office equipment.

  • Assist doctors with responding to correspondence, including email and physical letters.

  • Prepare exam rooms after they have been used to ensure they are sanitary for the next patient.

  • Maintain medical record database to ensure patient information is kept up to date, and provide patient information to other doctor offices when a patient is referred.

  • Perform additional administrative tasks when needed, which can include faxing or scanning documents, sending mail, providing patients with aftercare information and contacting patients to collect invoice payments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the field

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in EMR systems, especially Accuro, OTN and Medeo

  • Time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude

  • Proficient in computer and office phone systems

Expected Start Date: Immediate

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00-$19.00 per hour

Compensation will be per hour and it will depend on the experience.
