Noura Sheikhalzoor
Registered Dietitian
Certified Diabetes Educator
Noura Sheikhalzoor is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Eductor. She is passionate about empowering her patients and partnering with them to achieve their health goals. She has extensive experience providing nutrition and lifestyle support, counselling, coaching, and education for weight management, diabetes, blood pressure, dyslipidemia, hypothyroidism, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Ms. Sheikhalzoor obtained her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at the United Arab Emirates University’s College of Food and Agriculture. During this time, she also trained as a dietetic intern at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the UAE. She went on to complete the Dietetics Pre-Registration Program at Ryerson University before obtaining her Master of Science in Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan. Since graduation, she has completed additional training in areas including diabetes, hormones, women’s health, intuitive eating and eating psychology.
Ms. Sheikhalzoor believes in a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to care. She has a particular interest in endocrinology nutrition, which includes insulin resistance, diabetes, hypothyroidism, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She is also passionate about women's health in areas such as fertility, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, as well as eating behaviours and eating psychology.
Dedicated to learning and teaching, Ms. Sheikhalzoor is always looking to discover the latest in her field and share it with both her peers and her patients. She previously held the role of Teaching and Research Assistant and Fellow at the University of Saskatchewan. She enjoys learning about food cultures and practices from her patients.
When she’s not seeing patients, Ms. Sheikhalzoor enjoys reading, hiking, photography, cooking and watching stand-up comedy.
